If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency outside of normal business hours please call or go to one of the following emergency services as soon as possible:
We understand that emergencies happen and obviously can’t be predicted. If you believe your pet is experiencing a medical emergency during our normal business hours please contact us immediately at 636 227 7154 and we will do our very best to accommodate you.
It is very important, and in the best interest of your beloved friend that, if possible, one of our team members speaks to you prior to you coming in. There are several reasons for this.
-
We are a full service hospital and can handle most
medical emergencies but there are some cases in which
the best thing we can do for your loved one is realize
that they are going to be better served at a 24 hour
emergency hospital or at the referral facility where
they can receive the round the clock and/or specialty
care that they will need.
The last thing we want is to have you show up at our door, and then have to send you to the emergency hospital because we are not equipped to handle your pets particular problems. This obviously, wastes valuable time, in a situation where your pet is experiencing potentially life threatening issues and that time is precious.
-
There may be things we need you to do before coming in.
For instance if you suspect your pet ate something toxic we may ask you to bring in the packaging, or if it is not a typical substance we encounter we may need to contact poison control or do some quick research so we are prepared to address your pets issue as soon as you arrive.
- There are some instances, during our regular business hours where we are already dealing with emergent issues or don’t have the availability or staffing at the particular time your pet is experiencing their emergency to adequately address their problems. Please don’t be offended if we refer you to the Animal Emergency and Referral Center or one of the urgent care facilities. We really are still trying to do what is the absolute best for you and your pet.
